How to Remove Motor Oil from the Carpet

1)Get rid of the motor oil by scooping it off of the carpet using a plastic spoon. Discard the motor oil and spoon in a garbage can.

2) Blot your carpet using paper towels until you can’t any longer absorb the motor oil. Discard your paper towels in a garbage can.

3) Pour rubbing alcohol inside a little container. Dip a fresh cloth inside the rubbing alcohol. Start at the corner of the stain then blot using your cloth. Continually blot as you move toward the middle of the stain.

4) Do Step 3 again until you’ve removed every trace of the stain.

Method using Baking Soda

5) Get rid of the motor oil by scooping it off of the carpet using a plastic spoon. Discard your motor oil and spoon in the garbage can.

6) Sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda on the stain. This baking soda is going to absorb the motor oil. Permit the baking soda to sit upon the carpet for fifteen minutes. Get rid of the baking soda from your carpet using a vacuum.

7) Dampen a white, clean cloth using dry-cleaning solvent. Blot out the motor oil stain using the cloth. Start at the corners of the stain then work your way to the middle.

8) Do Step 3 again until the motor oil stain isn’t any longer visible. If the motor oil stain still exists, continue on to Step 5.

9) Blend two cups of water, one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of liquid dish soap within a pail. Saturate your cloth inside the mix. Wring the excess mixt out in order for the cloth to be damp, yet not soggy. Blot stain using the cloth until you eliminate all the motor oil. Dampen a fresh cloth using cold water. Blot the space using the cloth to rinse your carpet. Blot dry using a towel.
